How It All Started
In 2011, Jeff Blankenbiller was let go from his job. His wife was pregnant, and they had a 4-year-old at home. Instead of looking for another position, Jeff bought a truck and started JB Plumbing out of sheer necessity -- and a belief that he could do right by the customers other companies were cutting corners on.
That first year was just Jeff, one truck, and a phone that rang because neighbors told their neighbors. No advertising. No gimmicks. Just honest work and fair prices.
Where We Are Now
Today, JB Plumbing HVAC & Construction has grown to 22 employees and 18 trucks. We handle plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and full home remodeling for homeowners across the Reading area and Berks County.
We still treat every customer the way Jeff treated that very first one -- like a neighbor. You will not get a call center when you phone us. You will not get a hard sell when we come to your house. And you will not get a bill full of surprises when the job is done.
Our Team
Jeff still runs the company day-to-day. His wife Megan handles the construction and remodeling division -- her background in real estate means she understands what homeowners actually want, not just what contractors think they should get.
Bob Seidel, our founding partner, retired in 2024 after helping build JB from the ground up. His impact on the company is still felt every day.
Our crew is split into three divisions -- Plumbing, HVAC, and Construction -- each with experienced leads who have been with us for years.
In the Community
We live here. Our kids go to school here. So we show up for this community beyond just fixing pipes and installing heaters.
